what a surprise!

I was down in the dumps last Friday as I was leaving the house for work. Jonah was crying his brains out when he saw me leave and I just didn't feel like working 3 nights in a row. Imagine my surprise when I found THIS waiting for me on my doorstep along with a TON of goodies (I have to take a pic to show you. The amount is ridiculous).

Yes, I've been published again. :)

This time 1 digital layout and a mini album. So freaking awesome.

I know I've been terrible with the blogging (and the scrapbooking... Surprisingly, I've been doing well with cardmaking!). It's hard to keep up with an 18 month old who runs all over the place, has daily swimming lessons... and did I mention, runs all over the place?

So, even though I'm not scrapbooking as much as I should, I'd still like to keep this blog open and keep you all (there are still some of you out there, right?) updated every once in a while.

But YAY, I've been published again. I'm super excited.

toot TOOT! it's been a while.

I'm having difficulty keeping up with my scrapbooking blog. I just checked and I haven't posted since February 15! That's almost a month ago! I've probably lost of few buddies and readers - for that, I'm really sorry.

I will try to keep up from now on. And I will try and post at least twice a week. Even if I'm not scrapping, I'll pop in and say hello.

Just got back from my BFF's bachelorette party in VEGAS so I'm a little tired, sick, and just out of it. Had a GREAT time. More fun than I thought I would. Lots of partying and just hanging out with the girls. And I'm glad Corinne had a good time too! :)

While there, I checked my email and found out Scrapbook Trends wants to publish one of my mini books and a digi layout for their upcoming Vacation idea book! So exciting! First 1 layout in their wedding idea book last year and now a layout and a mini album. I'm THRILLED! :) toot TOOT for me!

So hopefully these toots will get me to scrap more and motivate me to get published more too. :) Mojo, come out come out wherever you are! :)

my moment finally arrived.

The other day a package arrived in the mail with my name on it. At first I was a little confused, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was my goodie box from my very first pub!

My very first published layout is on page 67. :)

Another toot for me!

A couple of weeks ago my very favorite LSS in the whole wide world asked me to be Featured Scrapper of the month for September. :) What a way to celebrate my birthday month, huh?

So far my birthday week has been pretty awesome... Got a lot of cool gifts, including a new iPod from the hubby, Mario Party 8 and Carnival Games for the Wii... Super fun...

I'm thinking of hosting a Wii party. There are eVites with Wii themed invitations. :)

Now THAT would be a cool scrapbook LO. :)

A few months ago I was uploading layouts to the Scrapbook.com's site and they had a Lucky 7 contest going on... 7 grand prize winners ($700 gift certificates to the site... 7 - one for each different category) and 70 honorable mentions - 10 each for each category ($70 gift certificate to the store).

So I uploaded and completely forgot about it... I rarely visit sb.com because, well, I've got a lot of scrap sites I visit already... but when I do visit, I tend to do it in huge waves.

A few weeks ago I got an email saying I was one of the HONORABLE MENTIONS! Scroll down - 8 rows down, right side. :)

I couldn't announce until they made their official announcement today but YAY! My first contest and I won a prize...Now I'm addicted to entering contests... Hmmm... Maybe HOF or MMM is in my future next year? *lol*

Yeah, right. :)

just when I thought my luck was over.

I've been really down in the dumps lately with all the rejection going around with the DTs I've been trying out for. You've read my previous posts so I won't continue to complain. It's taking a while, but I'm actually ok.

Tried to scrap after I put Jonah down to sleep for the night, but I wasn't feeling very inspired to do anything so I decided to hang out on the computer - visit blogs, visit messageboards and stuff... maybe get my mind off of things.

So I came across my pal Kim's blog and she posted about a toot! That one of her LOs will be featured in Scrapbook Trends' future Wedding Idea Book! So awesome - way to go, Kimmie! :)

And I thought to myself, wow, at least one of us will be in print for the first time. :)

Well, then I decided to check my emails (one of my many accounts) via Yahoo... and I hate my Yahoo account - it's old, it's full of spam, but I used to use it for my ScrapSubmit stuff because I couldn't figure how to change the preferences for emails and send it to a different one. I'm always afraid submission requests would get shuffled to my Spam folder and I'd miss it completely.

I remembered sending a submission for the wedding book a while ago... Kind of on a whim. I didn't think anything of it when I checked my mail. I just had to go deleting through tons of more spam that didn't get filtered - male enhancement, Viagra, refinance my home, etc...

but then I saw it... an email from ST requesting one of my digital LOs I submitted a while back.

Just when I thought my luck was over - my very first paper, in print magazine/idea book TOOT.

I'm so giddy, I can't stop smiling so stupidly right now... Wish Carl was home (he's at work) so I could share the news with SOMEONE in real life right now! But it's still great to share with my blogging peeps!

One of my biggest goal for my scrapbooking hobby is to either get published or be a part of a design team. *sigh* Can I do it? I hope so... But there are so many talented gals out there, my stuff doesn't even compare. But it's sure nice to dream. :)

I do have a little *toot* for myself... my Go Big or Go Home layout was chosen for Layout of the Day last week (Thanks, Melissa!) over at A Million Memories and my Big Yawn layout was featured in their article this week (Thanks Michelle and Alison! :)...

Yay me! Carl was really proud of me too. :)

So, remember when I blogged about becoming a Memory Works consultant? I'm not really doing it for the profit or work, I just do it for the great discounts. :)

Anyway, over National Scrapbook Day weekend, they were hosting a random drawing on Saturday amongst those who made purchases that day... If you made a purchase on Saturday, you were automatically entered to win a prize of scrapbooking goodies worth over $50.

I got an email a couple days ago and I was one of the winners! :) 1 out of 11 winners I think. So very cool.

I haven't had a chance to go through everything and separate what I bought from what I won, but geez, it's pretty SWEET!
