hello. remember me?

Yes. I've been terrible. I haven't been here in over 2 months! So crazy. But forgive me, I've been busy with life and the craziness of it all. Jonah had daily swim lessons. My birthday came and went (sorry no RAK this year). And I've just been tired.

But I'll try to update more. Does anyone even still read this?

*lol*

I made a layout a couple months ago... yes, ME. And it was DIGITAL too.

supplies: patterned papers, ribbon, tag, sentiment: "eieio" digital kit (Mindy Terasawa, http://www.designerdigitals.com); swirl brushes: "Skinny Mini Swirlies" (Mindy Terasawa, http://www.designer digitals.com); font: Century Gothic; Milky BW photo action: Mindy Bush (http://mindysphotoactions.blogspot.com)

I hope all of you out there are doing well. I do keep up with your blogs via Google Reader (love that thing!) but I'm always too much in a hurry to comment. Miss you all...

back from Vegas.

Spent the weekend (Saturday-Tuesday) with Carl, his parents and Jonah in Vegas. Had a great time. Didn't win any money, but got a little scrapping done. *lol* We stayed at his family's house and we weren't on the Strip very much so we had a lot of chill time at home. :)

Got a couple of digi LOs done:

supplies: patterned papers, staples, jelly buttons: Little Bit O Spunk mini kit by Gina Cabrera (Digital Design Essentials); swirl brushes: Skinny Mini Swirlies by Mindy Terasawa (Designer Digitals); "Happiness" ingredients brush by Andrea Victoria (ad challenge 07/01/07 freebie, Designer Digitals); fonts: Century Gothic, Susie's Hand

supplies: paper, hibiscus stamps, journaling stamp, alpha: Gina Cabrera (Digital Design Essentials); fonts: Century Gothic, Susie's Hand

I've really been getting into the digital scrapbooking lately and I'm losing the mojo for the paper scrapping. Don't get me wrong - I still have love for paper and adhesive, but I just love how digi is so easy and no cleanup required! *lol*

I'll probably work on more paper LOs this weekend, but for now I'll continue with the digi - at least for little bit while I've got the steam. :)

Happy weekend, y'all! :)

haven't done one in a while...

I scrapped a picture from my wedding... :)

She's one of my good friends yet we don't talk nearly as often as we both would like. Still, she's one of the greatest people I know. She just rocks... :)

Created this LO for one of my assigned 2 layouts for K-Joi... I thought this kit would be perfect to scrap some more wedding photos! :)

supplies:
Digital Kit (patterned papers, embellishments): "Soft Vintage Garden" by Jolanda Meursen (http://www.kjoistudios.com)
overlay: Overly Template Swirl-4 by Jolanda Meursen (http://www.kjoistudios.com)

Photography credit: Sharon Dawson (http://www.dawsonstudios.com)

Also used a Color Wonder PSE Action by Mindy Bush. :)

And I just finished another...

A rare LO about my mom... I don't know why I don't scrap more layouts of us... I'm lacking pictures? I'm not sure. I need to do more...

one.

Been a slow week with producing LOs... I've been super tired lately when night comes around and when Jonah's asleep so I haven't been exactly motivated to work on LOs. bummer.

Got a digital one done, though:

supplies: patterned paper, die cuts, word art by Lynn Grieveson (Hugs kit, www.designerdigitals.com); doodles by Jackie Eckles (Whimsicality Series #1 Element pack, www.littledreamerdesigns.com)

I did it just because... Not for my CT work or anything. The K-Joi Studios site is down and I didn't download my assigned kit this month so I'm behind. *sigh*

I've scrapbooked these pics before, but I love them so much that I could make a million LOs using them. *lol*

Have a great week, everyone!

scrapping on the brain...

Lately I've had scrapbooking on the brain and I've been itching to work on a couple layouts... Unfortunately, Jonah's daily schedule is changing - he's taking less naps and the ones he DOES take are shorter. Oh well...

I've been working on a couple of challenges and got one done tonight:

This one was for HMITM #52: Use 30 scraps. Super challenging but it was a lot of fun working with old scraps I have lying around all over my scrap room. *lol*

supply list:
Quickutz Stiletto font
Cricut Base Camp font
Bazzill cardstock
Patterned Papers: Tres Jolie, Cherry Arte, Jenni Bowlin, 7gypsies, Lil Davis Designs, Basic Grey, Prima, Daisy D's, Bo Bunny, Heidi Grace, Scenic Route, Crate Paper, A2Z Essentials

The other day I also finished my second digi LO for K-Joi Studios:

Really simple LO I did using the Cafe Pigalle kit by Dragons Lair Designs. Didn't come out the way I wanted, but I'm happy with it. :)

And and this is super awesome: My Love Story matchbook is LOTD at AMM. Yippee! :)

Have a great rest of the week! :)

yay! a digi!

I don't know why I've been neglecting the digital stuff lately... I think I've been really inspired by the traditional stuff moreso? Hmmm... I don't know.

Well, it's September and I need to create 2 layouts for K-Joi Studios for my CT commitment and I hadn't even started as of the weekend... Finally I worked on something and came up with this:

Simple and fun... Just like me. *lol*

Digital kit: Cafe Pigalle Page kit by Dragons Lair Designs (background papers, paper clip, brads, ribbon) at http://www.kjoistudios.com
font: Daily Birdie by Audrey Neal at http://www.oscraps.com
alpha: Surfer Dude Kit alpha by Gina Cabrera at http://www.digitaldesignessentials.com

feeling scrappy...

but at the moment, I'm a little too lazy to sit in front of my desk and actually get my hands dirty. So, instead, I've chosen to play with the digi stuff. :) Fun!

supplies: Surfer Dude kit by Gina Cabrera (Digital Design Essentials); brushes: Digital Dates Vol. 3 by Katie Pertiet (Designer Digitals)

Super fun LO... Love the brightness of the kit and it was so very easy to play with. I've got 3 or so Hawaii trips still to scrap so this kit will definitely come in handy! :)

I'm learning a ton of new things with digital scrapping everyday... Today was BRUSHES... Ok, I've been a total lame-o when it came to brushes. For the longest time, I was like, "What ARE those things? Do I drag my mouse across the page like a brush?" *lol* Such a digi virgin. Ha!

I discovered that brushes act like stamps. I can change the color of them and the size of them and then voila! I stamp it on the page and there's my image. So freakin' cool. :)

There's a sale going on until Tuesday at Designer Digitals so I loaded up on a few different brush sets. Those should keep me busy until I go on another spending frenzy. *lol*

Oh and if you get a chance, check this out... She's been updating with a whole lot of stuff regarding digital scrapping and hybrid scrapping. :) Pretty cool.

busy busy busy...

It's been hard returning back to work after having 6 months off. I'm learning how to reorganize my time and to try and fit in everything I want to do... It's been hard, but I've been trying...

You're probably wondering where my LOs have been... I've worked on a couple, but I'm debating on whether or not to submit them for DT entries so I'm holding off posting here until I get word that they don't want me. *lol*

I do have a couple I can share!

Both digital:

Did this one for a CT project over at K-Joi...
supplies: "The Write Stuff" Kit by Dawn Inskip (K-Joi Studios); Chipboard Alpha by Katie Pertiet (DesignerDigitals); font: Tahoma

supplies: Fortune Mini Kit by Rhonna Farrer (2Peas); Chipboard Alpha by Katie Pertiet (Designer Digitals); font: Susie's Hand

Have a wonderful Friday everyone! :)

been a while...

Since my last post, I've been pretty busy with my days leading up to my return to work this Friday night... *sigh*

I was studying for my Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course for a couple weeks and finally took the 2 day class this weekend. Yuck. 2 days full of class. It was fine though and it went by quickly...

Spent my time reading the new Harry Potter book... Still not finished so nobody spoil it for me! *lol* Hopefully I'll be done soon. It's so bittersweet. I can't believe it's the end of the series.

I scrapped a little - but just digital...

supplies:
patterned papers, arrow, sentiment : June Kit by Lauren Reid (ScrapArtist.com)
green patterned paper: Kung Pao papers kit by Kim Christensen (ScrapArtist.com)
stitching: designer unknown (AtomicCupcake.com)
to do paper, corner stitching: Whimsy Style kit by Sarah Batdorf (the-Lilypad.com)
font: Susie's Hand

supplies:
Calypso Breeze kit (shabbyelements.com)
font: Plastique (downloaded from the internet)

There was a bunch of cool challenges over at SIStv over the weekend but I didn't have time to scrap... The only one I got to participate in was the digi/hybrid challenge (see the Paradise LO)... and I was one of the winners! So exciting.

AND, for my K-Joi CT, I kind of help come up with the slogan so I won a little prize too.

All and all it's been a great week in the scrapping world. Hopefully I can keep the mojo going. :)

bummer:( ... but I did a digi LO. :)

So I've been applying to DTs for the past week and so far no luck... I did make it as a finalist at Scrappy Girl Designs and they had 5 spots out of the 7 finalists, I was one of the 2 that didn't make it. *sigh*

I don't think my work is all that bad, is it?

It's disappointing, but I have to realize that it's not meant to be... and there's a DT out there that I'll be a perfect fit for...

It's still a bummer getting rejected 3 times in one week.

So instead I drowned my sorrows in some digi for my CT work. :) Yay me. :)

non stop shopping week!

Between the sales this week at 2 of my favorite LSSs and online deals for digi supplies, I'm almost TAPPED out. I need to stop and really use what I have. Let's just say it's a good thing I do the bills in this household so DH doesn't FREAK out over how much I've been spending lately!

On a positive note, though, I was able to visit Suzy at Picture Me Perfect and got to chat with Erin too! AND even better: Jonah behaved himself!

Jonah took on tiny nap this morning so I got a little scrapping done...New digi LO for the day:

supplies:
background paper: The Ultimate Background Collection by Nancy Comelab (the-lilypad.com)
stitches: unknown designer (atomiccupcake.com)
felt flowers: Fuzzy Flowers by Amy Martin (the-lilypad.com)
Alpha: Fit 2b Tied By Tia Bennett (2peas)
ledger paper: Line 'em Up by Kate Teague (2peas)
weekday paper: Whimsy Style by Sarah Batdorf (the-lilypad.com)
frame: Ultimate Frame Collection Vol. 1 - Vintage by Nancy Comelab (the-lilypad.com)
font: Times New Roman

Last night I worked on a project for a DT entry... It's still not done yet, I should be done next week! Cross your fingers I'll be able to make this deadline!

AND I really should study for my class for work so I shouldn't have my mind on scrapping! Ugh!

diggin' the digi. :)

I'm starting to really dig digi. :) And I ventured beyond the freebie kits and started buying stuff online. Favorite sites to download stuff from?

2peas
Designer Digitals
Something Blue Studios
Atomic Cupcake
Shabby Miss Jenn Designs

I had some digi scrapping mojo going on from the other day so I decided to play around with an online kit. The bad part of doing digi is that no matter how much I try, I can't seem to get my stuff organized! Another con is the fact that it's so simple to buy stuff like digi embellies online the $$ adds up quick! (gotta love Paypal! *lol*)

Anyway, I made this LO for my SIL and her boyfriend. They've been through so much together and now they're doing the long distance than while she's in grad school (2nd master's) and he's across the country doing finishing his PhD. Yup. They're smart mo' fo's... Seriously. :) But I wanted to make them something special to give to them when he visits in August. Hope they like it!
